I work for the Urban Traffic Control department for the City of Wolverhampton Council. We use One.Network daily to monitor roadworks and permits for Wolverhampton, Walsall and Dudley, it has become one of most used resources.
To help further improve our deparments efficiency, I'm currently signed up to your alerts system, sending me daily emails of a summary of roadworks within our controlled areas.
Upon using this tool, I've come across a minor setback for our work.
I use the email alerts with an Email Parsing tool. This helps automate the process of extracing the data from the email and copying it into a spreadsheet, we send out to our teams.
I've tried mulitple parsing tools with this email but they all suffer from one minor issue. When trying to extract the location/Road name - due to them being a hyperlink in the email - They will not extract correctly. The best we can get it to is to extract a basic version of the hyperlink such as https://one.network/?GB143361573
This defeats the point of automating the system, if we have to manually reenter and find the corrosponding locations.
My minor suggestion would be: On the Roadworks Alert emails, in the same sub sections such as Traffic Managment:, Responsibility for works etc. add a location subheading with just the text version of the road name. I've attached a screenshot for reference.
This would allow email parsing systems to successfully navigate and extract info from these emails.
I hope you consider this suggestion
